Not Every Decision Will Feel Easy
Have you ever noticed that it’s not the decision itself that feels challenging, but the way you think other people will react?
They’ll think you’re a bitch.
Their feelings will be hurt.
They’ll be disappointed.
They will disagree.
They won’t understand.
They’ll think you are making a terrible mistake.
When we care deeply about other people’s feelings, we can lost sight of our own needs and values.
We worry about hurting or disappointing others.
We feel the need to apologize or explain.
We ask others for input to validate our own feelings.
Sometimes choosing what’s right for you means letting other people down.
Not everyone will agree.
Not everyone will understand.
It won’t always feel easy.
It won’t always be comfortable.
Learning to honor yourself and your needs takes practice.
One decision at a time.
