I Made a Mistake and That’s Okay

In an ongoing effort to simplify my life, a create a season of self-care, I kept last week’s blog post short and to the point. Without much proof reading or suggested edits from AI, I spoke from the heart and shared what was on my mind. And when I received the mass email, along with all of my subscribers, I saw what everyone else would see…

A typo!!!

I felt my stomach drop, my heart begin to race and my cheeks start to flush. My thoughts spiraled and my inner critic was MORE than happy to chime in:

What an idiot!

I knew you would mess this up.

Who’s going to take you seriously now?

After a few deep breaths, and a coaching tool I keep handy for times like these, I reminded myself that I no longer believe that making a mistake makes me a failure.

I am not a machine. I am human. We all make mistakes.

And I would rather show up here as my true, relatable, imperfect self than someone who seems impossibly put together speaking down to you. Because, honestly, I am you.

If you would like to work with someone who sees you, holds space for you and has compassion for who you truly are, I just might be the perfect coach for you.
