Curious About Coaching…But Also a Little Afraid?

If you’ve ever thought about working with a life coach—but then hesitated, second-guessed yourself, or talked yourself out of it—I get it. The thought of opening up can feel vulnerable, unfamiliar and even scary.

This is more common than you think, especially for people who are used to keeping things together, doing things on their own, or putting other people’s needs first.

Even if something inside you wants support… another part of you might be unsure.

Common Fears About Getting Coached

  • “What if I don’t know what I need help with?” - You don’t have to have it all figured out. Part of the coaching process is gently uncovering what’s underneath your stress or overwhelm.

  • “What if I cry or get emotional?” - That’s okay. Emotions are welcome in coaching but you will never be pressured into anything you are not ready for.

  • “Will this be like therapy?” - Coaching can be similar to therapy but we don’t diagnose or unpack past trauma. We focus on moving forward, building self-trust, and making decisions that feel good to you now.

  • “I should be able to figure this out on my own.” - Getting coached isn’t a sign of weakness or lack of resources. It’s a way to receive support, been seen and learn how to see things from a new perspective.

It’s okay to feel nervous about getting coached.
It doesn’t mean you’re not ready—it just means you’re human.

Coaching Isn’t About Fixing You

One of the biggest myths about life coaching is that you need to have a clear goal, be super motivated, or already know what you want to work on.

You don’t.

You can come to coaching feeling unsure, overwhelmed, stuck, or even a little skeptical.

You can come to coaching as you are.

Coaching is a safe space where you get to:

  • Explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment

  • Feel seen and heard

  • Open your mind to different ways of thinking

  • Learn how to be the real you

You don’t have to explain everything perfectly or have a list of goals.
You just have to show up honestly. I’ll help guide the rest.

But What Is a Coaching Session Like?

Every coach is a little different, but here’s what you can expect from a session with me:

  • We’ll meet on zoom as often as you like - weekly sessions are recommended.

  • Come as you are - no need for make-up, a tidy background, or even an agenda.

  • We’ll start with a check-in to see what’s coming up for you.

  • You get to choose what feels most important to talk about (and if you don’t know, that’s okay too—we’ll figure it out together).

  • I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help you explore what’s underneath the stress, decision, or situation you’re navigating.

  • You’ll leave with more clarity, relief, or a small next step to support yourself between sessions.

You’ll never be judged, pushed, or made to feel wrong.
This isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about supporting the real you that’s been under all the overthinking, overgiving, or self-doubt.

You Might Still Feel Nervous… And That’s Okay

Trying something new can feel vulnerable. But nervous doesn’t mean no. It just means you’re breaking a cycle.

And if you’ve spent a lifetime showing up for everyone else, coaching might be the first time you get to show up for yourself.

You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to be ready.
You just have to be curious about what’s possible when you stop doing it all alone.
